This March, join us in celebrating Women’s Empowerment Month: a community-wide annual celebration of women and girls.
When we champion women and girls, we change our community for the better. We celebrate Women’s History Month to remind ourselves of the extraordinary accomplishments and contributions of women to our culture and society.
HOW TO CELEBRATE
WEAR PERSIMMON
On Friday, March 8th, International Women’s Day, dress in a way that celebrates women’s empowerment! This could include donning YWCA swag or wearing t-shirts or accessories with empowering quotes/messages or iconic sheroes.
START A FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE
Join a friendly fundraising competition against other empowering groups in our community! YWCA employees are competing against YWCA board members and volunteers. Support an existing group or create your own! All money raised supports YWCA’s mission to empower women and eliminate racism.
HOST A BOOK/MOVIE CLUB
Start a literature/movie/documentary club or organize a film screening event that highlights women’s achievements, challenges, and empowerment. Focus on work by women or about women that explore women’s empowerment themes. Discussing these can lead to meaningful conversations. Need ideas?

Calling All Businesses!
Become a Women’s Empowerment Partner in one of two ways. Both options receive tons of recognition and marketing!
- Sponsor Women’s Empowerment Month. Make a donation to YWCA and receive the benefits outlined at the corresponding partnership level.
- Host a fundraising campaign before or during March. Raise the funds creatively in-store and submit the final donation at the end of the month.
Join the movement! Through this campaign, we will highlight Women’s History Month events, activities, and initiatives happening in March.
