We are honored to host several special events throughout the year. Additionally, we’re proud to join community partners to raise awareness and bring consciousness to issues surrounding racial justice and gender equality.

Dec 29 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Winter Social Justice Book Club @ Zoom

This book contains 15 shorts stories and every 3 weeks, we will pick a story to discuss and learn from, continuing our anti-racism work.

This book vividly presents – in their own words – the personal stories, experiences and reflections of fifteen prominent white anti-racists. They recount the circumstances that led them to undertake this work, describe key moments and insights along their journeys, and frankly admit their continuing lapses and mistakes. They make it clear that confronting oppression (including their own prejudices) – whether about race, sexual orientation, ability, or other differences – is a lifelong process of learning.

Let’s confront oppression together.

Stand Against Racism @ Virtual

YWCA is on a mission to Stand Against Racism!

We take a Stand Against Racism every day by raising awareness about the impact of institutional and structural racism and by building community among those who work for racial justice.

Stand Against Racism provides the opportunity for communities across the United States to find an issue or cause that inspires them to take a #StandAgainstRacism and to unite their voices to educate, advocate, and promote racial justice.

Join us for this first part of our Stand Against Racism conversation. Collectively, using the Theatre of the Oppressed model, we will examine and bear witness to the impact of racism on our individual and community health. This conversation will be the inspiration for an original Theatre of the Oppressed performance which will be produced later in May.

21-Day Challenge to Eliminate Racism & Empower Women

Our 21-Day Challenge takes individuals on a journey to become more mindful, to create dedicated space for learning and to partner with YWCA (and fellow participants) in eliminating racism and empowering women.

This experience helps participants to understand how racial and social injustices impact our community and to identify ways to dismantle inequities and discrimination. Our Challenge begins on May 3rd and you can register at any point during the Challenge.
