Calendar
We are honored to host several special events throughout the year. Additionally, we’re proud to join community partners to raise awareness and bring consciousness to issues surrounding racial justice and gender equality.

Women in America earn 82 cents for every dollar that white men earn. The amount a woman is paid changes based on her race as well. Black women make 62 cents, Native women make 57 cents, and Latinas are the lowest at 54 cents. Lost wages mean women have less money to support themselves and their families, save and invest for the future, and spend on goods and services. Families, communities, and the economy suffer as a result.
Join YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix in empowering women to close the wage gap! We offer a two-part educational series geared towards providing women with the skills and knowledge to advocate for themselves and their families during wage negotiations. Part one will be an orientation, where we will assist you to connect for the online course. The second part includes a review, practice, and coaching session that connects you with our coaches and others committed to closing the pay gap for all women!
Session One: October 13th from 5:30pm to 6:00pm
Session Two: October 27th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm

Have you ever thought, “That’s what I should have said!” when reliving a conversation you had a day, week, or month ago? If so, be sure to join us for Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda!
As the end of the year approaches and we make plans to see friends and family (even if it’s virtually!) we are offering a conversation to practice mindful and effective responses to overt and covert racist, sexist, and bigoted comments and conversations.

This book contains 15 shorts stories and every 3 weeks, we will pick a story to discuss and learn from, continuing our anti-racism work.
This book vividly presents – in their own words – the personal stories, experiences and reflections of fifteen prominent white anti-racists. They recount the circumstances that led them to undertake this work, describe key moments and insights along their journeys, and frankly admit their continuing lapses and mistakes. They make it clear that confronting oppression (including their own prejudices) – whether about race, sexual orientation, ability, or other differences – is a lifelong process of learning.
Let’s confront oppression together.

Exciting news! For the 13th year running, the Meals on Wheels network is participating in the 2020 Subaru Share the Love Event. Over the past twelve years, Subaru and its retailers have helped Meals on Wheels to deliver more than 2.3 million meals nationwide to seniors in need.
Why does Subaru support Meals on Wheels? Too many seniors are struggling to stay independent and healthy. One in four seniors lives alone in isolation and one in seven seniors might not know from where their next meal is coming. This is simply unacceptable, which is why Organization Name provides the nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks to the seniors of area. This vital support keeps seniors in their own homes, where they want to be.
We’re incredibly grateful to Subaru and its Retailers for supporting our organization and the seniors we serve. With that in mind, we thought you might want to learn a little bit more about the Subaru Share the Love Event.
