FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PHOENIX – (March 14, 2017) – The YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix is hosting the last in the series of the Women’s Empowerment events for 2016-17, The YWCA Author’s Luncheon featuring, Jen Bricker, author of Everything is Possible on May 25th, 11 AM at the Camby Hotel in Phoenix, AZ.
Born without legs, Jen’s biological parents left her at the hospital. The hand of destiny brought her an amazing adoptive family, who gave her one simple rule, “Never say the word, Can’t.” As a child, Jen was obsessed with gymnastics, and her idol was gold-medalist, Dominique Moceanu. Watching Dominique on TV, helped inspire Jen to start competing herself. Jen went on to compete against able-bodied athletes, and became a State Champion in power tumbling. As part of her amazing story, and as twist of fate, Jen later learned that her childhood gymnastics idol, Dominique Moceanu, was her biological sister.
Jen is an accomplished acrobat and aerialist. She traveled internationally with Britney Spears’ World Tour, and appeared as the headliner at the prestigious Palazzo hotel in Las Vegas, and the Shangri La hotel in Dubai. Jen’s incredible story has been featured on multiple shows, including HBO Real Sports, 20/20 and Good Morning America.
Tables of 10 are $750 or $700 for members. Tickets are $75 and $70 for YWCA members. Guests can register and become members online at YWCAAZ.ORG, or at 602-258-0990.
This event is part of the Women’s Empowerment Series, designed by the YWCA to showcase women leaders, educate and empower women through presentations by exceptional women focusing on issues facing women and families.
“Jen’s story is one of true determination and will inspire all who attend to aspire to achieve beyond our dreams. You won’t want to miss this event!” states YWCA, CEO, Dr. Regina Edwards.
